What Exactly Is CBD Oil?

CBD stands for: Cannabidiol, and it’s a phytocannabinoid.

CBD Oil is extracted from the plant.

It is one of 113 cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant’s extract!

So what’s a phytocannabinoid? It’s a molecule which is synthesized by plants. To synthesize means the process of one or more chemical reactions, creating a product or multiple products.

To put it simply: CBD Oil comes from the Cannabis plant but does NOT get you high due to the extraction process.

How cool is that!? One plant, so many wellness benefits and options!

P.S: CBD is not a ‘hot trend’ if you ask me – it’s a ‘here-to-stay’ wellness option that has tons of benefits. What do you think?

Myth #1: CBD Has Not Been Proven To Help With Health Conditions

Wrong! The FDA (Food & Drug Administration) approved CBD-based medications to help Epilepsy.

And that my friends, is just the tip of the beautiful cannabis ice burg!

More studies prove that cannabis may, in fact, help support and moderate neurological disorders.

For patients suffering from Ulcers and Colitis, studies have shown that Cannabis can be very effective in helping and possibly even healing these pains and symptoms.

Myth #2: CBD Will Get Me ‘High’

No way! This is another horrible myth – especially among the older population. It’s because for so many years, we’ve heard about Cannabis and it’s psychoactive effects.

Psychoactive is just a fancy word, that’s hard to spell, which means “high”.

It’s the THC in the Cannabis plant that gets you high, and not CBD oil.

Even though CBD comes from the same plant as THC, they do different things.

Myth #3: CBD Is A Marketing Scam

I do want to caution you about properly reading labels in all products that claim they have CBD or Hemp.

Yes, Marketing can be deceiving and a tricky, nasty beast.

Marketing companies can lead you into a cannabis craze, thinking that only certain products, with certain popular labels are right for you.

Wrong, friends, wrong!

The beauty industry hopped on the weed bandwagon, so-to-speak, and started claiming that products containing CBD were high potency, pure extract, or 100% – even though it was the very last listed ingredient among 50.

Read the labels people! Make sure your CBD beauty products or CBD oils are coming from a company that can back up their claims with lab reports, proper dosage, and that they are reputable and transparent organization.

Myth #4: I Took CBD For A Week and Nothing Happened

Here’s the thing: If you just take CBD for the sake of trying it, without actually having a wellness game-plan in mind, then you probably won’t have any benchmarks or benefits to notice.

Example: If you take Advil every single day for one week, but you don’t have headaches, sinus issues, etc – you’re probably just going to feel okay or fine, but you don’t have a comparable difference.

The people online who are claiming this, haven’t specified which particular wellness challenge or condition they would like help or ease with.

So before you even try CBD oil, make sure there is a condition, illness or health and wellness challenge that you would like CBD to treat or support.

Myth #5: The CBD Industry is Sketchy so CBD is Sketchy Too

Ultimately, it’s up to you to be your own bona-fide sketch-detective.

Yes, I know – tons of businesses out there look legit, but are actually sketchy.

They fly under the radar and are using marketing lingo and terms to promote a product that is not proper, or has CBD oil in it, legitimately.

*SIGH*

The thing that’s actually sketchy is who regulates this, and not the businesses. They’re just doing what businesses do: make money and lots of it.

You have to do your due diligence.

Make sure the company you have your eye on has proper lab reports, and while you’re digging around, find out where they get their marijuana from too.
