Syosset school closed for in-person learning after staff member tests positive for COVID-19

The last of several school districts head back to class today, but one middle school in Syosset won’t have in-person learning after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

In a note to parents, Syosset Central School District officials say South Woods Middle School will be closed as the county investigates the case.

Students will still have class, however all instruction will be done virtually.

Officials say students should check their Google Classroom for further instruction from their teachers.

In the meantime, the building will also undergo cleaning.
